Gary’s broad experience is invaluable in his role as Business Development Manager as it enables him to ask the right questions, understand our clients’ needs and put together quality proposals.

Gary is also the founder and director of the British Columbia Formwork Association, which he founded in 2016 to build a united voice to better represent the interests of formwork organizations in BC.

His passion: “I love building in its many forms, from the structure to all the relationships along the way. Construction has been and always will be a part of my life. These days, I don’t direct the sites like I used to, but I enjoy getting to as many of our projects as possible to see the innovative ideas implemented by us and our partners. The learning never ceases.”

Having grown up on the West Coast, Gary has always enjoyed the outdoors, including camping and fishing. Sports have also played a big part in his life, and he still enjoys playing hockey and golf whenever he has the chance.

RJ has worked on some of the largest projects in Vancouver and across Western Canada. He approaches every new job as an opportunity to expand his professional know-how, sharpen his technical capabilities and exceed client expectations.

His passion: RJ loves working outdoors. He enjoys seeing things being built and contributing to the team effort that goes into a job done right. He takes great pride in the completion of a quality project. RJ is an avid fisherman and can often be found on the water when he’s not busy on a building site.

Matthieu excels in team leadership and site management. He is constantly pursuing innovation in more efficient use of equipment and developing best practice systems. He also enjoys his role as a mentor for the next generation of shotcrete professionals.

His passion: “I have always had an interest in architecture and graphic design. Working in construction and being a part of the creation of recognizable projects is something I take pride in. My work has allowed me to contribute to numerous interesting projects, such as sculpting rock facades on mountains throughout our province.”

Matthieu enjoys walking through the downtown core and taking in the various architectural styles, from the 20th century Edwardian to the 21st century modernist. “There is always something new to find.”

For Jarrod, the construction industry is first and foremost about people. He is proud of the top-notch team he has helped to build up at Power Shotcrete Structures and loves working with them on a daily basis. He also enjoys building strong, meaningful relationships with clients and partners so they can achieve better outcomes together and share in each other’s successes.

His passion: “I’m passionate about building and the process of creating something new. I’ve had the privilege of playing a role in the development of many exciting projects in Vancouver and throughout the Lower Mainland, from Rogers Arena to the Westin Bayshore Expansion. It brings me joy to know that I had a hand in shaping these communities.”

In addition to his passion for construction, Jarrod enjoys a life filled with family, friends and hobbies. Whether he’s playing hockey, boating, woodworking or caring for his pets, Jarrod does it all with great affection for the people in his life and great appreciation for the opportunity to live on the West Coast.
